Troubleshooting

VGA, HDMI, DVI, DP (DisplayPort), and Mini DP

Sometimes when flaky stuff is happening, it can help to re-seat everything (ram, video cards, etc.). If you'd be comfortable doing that, with the power cable unplugged, open the box and unplug everything from the motherboard (one at a time) and plug it back in. Sometimes stuff can wiggle loose (especially when moving boxes around) and cause problems.

For displays, you want to make sure that you're using a digital (NOT analog) signal. While there are differences between the digital options - DVI, HDMI, and DP (& mini) - just make sure the analog VGA connections aren't used.

Is Nvidia Quadro M4000 certified for revit 2018

Inside The Factory - 2015/07 - revit-graphics-certification - about the certification process; min. req'd: DirectX 11 and Shader Model 3

"For hardware certification there are at least four states: Certified (i.e tested & Passed) / Unknown (i.e. untested) / Unsupported (tested & failed) / Incompatible (the hardware does not support DirectX 11 or cannot be queried to determine support)."

"It is not unusual to see the incompatible message when working in a virtual machine (since Revit can only see the virtual graphics adaptor and not the actual hardware)."

Autodesk says it's nvidia's responsibility, nvidia says it's Autodesk's (to test drivers). http://www.nvidia.in/object/quadro-desktop-gpu-specs-in.html

Mouse

I mouse left-handed using an ambidextrous mouse (with the thumb button set to Esc) in conjunction with AutoHotkey to set a few convenience keys on the right side of the keyboard (which makes it easy to enter distances using the number keypad). I also have Keyboard Shortcuts [TODO] for commands mapped to corresponding keys on the number pad.

In early February 2020, the middle-click (scroll wheel click) stopped working on my IOGEAR Symmetre GME630 (started as intermittent failures), though the scroll wheel still works. This made it impossible to pan or zoom extents. I temporarily mapped the "Wheel click" to the #4 button so that it would at least be somewhat useable and ordered a Sensei 310 as a replacement mouse. Also looked into vertical mice (and thought about trackballs), but haven't made that leap yet.

At least most of the Sensei 310 is plastic (there's just a couple foamy rubber areas on the sides). Unlike many people I actually don't like the rubberized surfaces on many mice - they collect "hand gunk" and are hard to clean without scrubbing off the rubber along with the gunk (which will leave irritating edges). When I was still right-handed (with AutoCAD), I wound up removing all of the rubberized coating on one of my Logitech MX518's just because the patches got irritating. The top of my GME630 looks disgusting (because I've been more gentle about cleaning it, I can't get the gunk off the rubber parts). Hopefully the sides of the Sensei 310 will be easier to clean (since they feel like a different type of material).

Sensei Ten

Seems to be an improvement on 310 (no longer has rubber pads on sides with grooves that collect grime). Smooth surface, but unsure if it's a coating that can rub off.

  1. click "Engine" on the left, then "SENSEI TEN" under "GEAR"
  2. click the "Click here to fix these settings." link in the orange bar (see instructions for Sensei 310 > Default)
  3. click "._ CONFIGS" on bottom left, then click "+ NEW" for each configuration below

Default

Right-Handed

  • remove first 4 Mouse Sensitivity Levels (so only "3200 CPI" remains)
  • set full Acceleration, and Deceleration halfway
  • Disable Illumination for B3 and LOGO
  • Deactivate B6 [Right-Handed only]
    • maybe the position on my desk (closer to me) causes me to keep clicking it with my pinkie
  • set B4 to Esc (under Keyboard Buttons > Editing)
  • Set B8 to Left-Handed [after creation] (under Launch Configuration > SENSEI TEN)

Left-Handed

  • set B6 to Esc (under Keyboard Buttons > Editing)

Clicking the "Click here to fix these settings." link in the orange bar at the top will bring up the following dialog with a "FIX THESE SETTINGS FOR ME" button, which adjusts the settings in the "Motion" section on the "Pointer Options" tab of the "Mouse Properties" Control Panel.

IOGEAR Symmetre GME630

Ambidextrous mouse. https://www.iogear.com/product/gme630 Driver Download

Thought it wouldn't be comfortable (because of the angles), but it was. I miss it (middle button broke). Better acceleration than Sensei replacement (above). Main negative is the rubbery coating that accumulates hand oil gunk (that can't be cleaned without rubbing off - similar to Logitech).

If it sent a signal, I would be able to capture it with AutoHotKey and remap it:

Sorry to bother you.

We are writing to tell you the answer of the question you mentioned. Just for your information, Only colored light can not be set to monochromatic light, the light can not adjust the brightness, there is no AppsKey button, it is actually the appearance of the picture

With any other concern, please let us know, we will be here with you.

Have a nice day.

Kind regards,

Thank you for allowing us to partner with you to solve your concerns. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you.

Is the keyboard backlight only rainbow? or can it be set to single color (such as red)?

Is the keyboard brightness adjustable?

Through software? or keyboard (without need for drivers)?

From pictures (hard to tell), it looks like the keys to the right of the spacebar are: Alt-Fn-AppsKey-Ctrl

On my keyboard, they’re: Alt-Win-AppsKey-Ctrl

If you could confirm the AppsKey is there, that would be very helpful. I can lose the extra Win key, but I use AutoHotKey to remap that AppsKey to a Tab. So I need that key to send a signal to the computer.

riitek.com Rii RK100 (can't use)

(seems like RK100+ can’t actually adjust the color – only rainbow?)

the keys to the right of the spacebar are: Alt-Fn-(Brightness?)-Ctrl

On standard keyboard, they’re: Alt-Win-AppsKey-Ctrl

I can lose the extra Win key, but I use AutoHotKey to remap the AppsKey to a Tab. However, the “brightness” key does NOT send a signal to the computer ("It is only internal to the keyboard." - per support 9/2/19) as the backlight function is independent of software.
